Specialist Travel Business  – Turnover £30m

Project : 5 individual brands operating as one business with no clarity of reporting on individual brands performance. Project to separate the reporting of each brand to give clarity with regards to the performance of each individual brand.

 

Aim : In addition to separating the reporting of each individual brand, to understand and maximise the profitability of each brand and therefore ensure more effective and targeted business decision making.

 

Outcome : Full reporting of each individual business enabling clarity of profit centres and issues. Individual brands were then treated as individual profit centres leading to increased accountability. The profitability of each individual brand was increased as a result of this project with previously under recognised brands becoming key areas of growth for the business.  As a result of the clearer reporting and forecasting, a renewed strategy for each individual brand  was established and growth and revenues were increased.

Direct Sales Tour Operator – Turnover £31m

Project : Review reporting and performance following separation of business from another entity.

Aim : To bring clarity of challenges and opportunities for business through a thorough understanding of financials of the business.

​

Outcome : Through improved reporting and analysis of the business, greater clarity was achieved of its performance and potential. This enabled a new strategy to be implemented and the product to be innovated (alongside a change in pricing strategy) to meet new changing consumer requirements and value perception. This all led to an improvement in profits of the business.

Privately Owned Hotel Group – Turnover £12m

Project : Review financial reporting of business and put in place accurate analysis and forecasts to ensure business was meeting Investor requirements.

Aim : Implement suitable budgeting and forecasting process to ensure accurate understanding of financial performance to meet investor and borrowing requirements and to maximise growth potential of business.

Outcome : More accurate financial reporting enabling clearer picture of company position and to ensure business did not breach any financial covenants. Implemented suitable budgeting and forecasting process to maximise margins and ensure more robust performance analysis. Assisted in development of strategy to meet business growth requirements with more thorough and timely analysis available. Enabled commercial returns to be maximised and customer expectations met through analysis of financial performance and pricing understanding.

Worldwide Sailing Event

Implementation of the finances of an entirely new event business.

 

Responsible for forecasting the finances of the business and full event and ensuring that it was a viable proposition and that the budgets were all adhered too during initial phases of launch.
